Why are you considering using battieres using Lithium, the supplies of which are only available from other counties who may not be able to suppot the supply of Lithium going forward. It seem to me that the project is unsupportable as a 25 year plan and other alternative which are less toxic have have just not even been addressedLithium
being a local resident we have been approached by other residence. we are worried what affect will this have on the environment and the wildlife in the area. Renewable energy is intermittent, This means we can’t rely on it to meet demand
Fossil fuel generators coal gas and nuclear make up the difference
As these go off line we need to be able to meet that demand
Energy storage lets us store renewable energy for when it is needed
National Grid ESO have estimated we need up to 37GW of energy storage by 2050
The Scottish Energy Strategy, published 2018, supports new energy storage capacity. It states that the Scottish Government will continue to support innovation and deployment in storage and to work to accelerate its penetration across Scotland.
Why in this Location?
The land is located near the Stirling GSP
There is available capacity at the Grid Supply Point
Across Scotland there are very few Grid Locations that can accept this level of power.
The site lies on part of Bolfornought Farm, on the carse by the Springkerse industrial area, over 1km from Cambuskenneth to the north west and 1.5km from Fallin to the south east, the closest towns.
